A small studio with a long product list.
xofactory is an independent software studio. There is no outside funding and no sales team. The products exist because we run servers, shops and a clinic ourselves and kept building the same internal tools over and over. At some point it was less work to make them proper products than to keep patching private copies.
The first one was clinicxo, a practice management system that has been in daily use at clinics since 2022. Everything with an xo in the name came after it, and most of those are tools for people who rent a few servers and would rather not run Kubernetes to use them.
How we decide what to build
Each product has to pass the same test: would we keep using it if nobody else did? backupxo backs up our own databases. cronxo runs our own queues. dockxo deploys this website. If a product stops being useful to us, it gets archived rather than kept alive for a landing page.
Why most of it is free
Infrastructure tools are cheap to run when the data stays on your side. backupxo never stores your dumps, dockxo never stores your backups, and none of the agents need an inbound port. What is left for us to pay for is a small panel and a Telegram bot. We would rather have a lot of people using the panel than a few paying for it, so the server tools are free with no seat limits.
Three products charge money. facetbrowser is a one-time purchase, orcapayz charges after a trial because it handles your revenue, and clinicxo has monthly plans because clinics expect support hours.
One stack, deliberately
Almost everything runs as a single Docker container on servers we rent, deployed by dockxo, with MariaDB behind it and Redis beside it. The web apps are Laravel with Livewire or Node with React; the agents are Go or a single Python file. Keeping the stack narrow means one person can hold all eleven products in their head, and a fix in one usually shows up in the others within a week.
